Trawl-lines / Longliners - PROFI fishing technique
LONGLINING - is fishing with one long line (rope) about 300 metersin length with about 80 hooks on it. Every 3 meters there is one hook with the bait on it. We use two longline systems. The bait used is sardine or pieces of calamari.
At sunset we go to the fishing point and we leave the longline in the sea over night. The fishare caught during the night, because the eel fish hunt only at night.
Sometimes we even catch sharks (spiny dogfish- that live in the Adriatic, they are not dangerous (little shark max 1 met, up to 10 kg).
Early in the morning around 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. we must go to the fishing point and we pull the line in and remove the fish.
